 Nelson is a thriving village set against a backdrop of high, rugged bluffs. Hang gliding from the blufftops is becoming a popular sport. Castleberg Park, beneath the twin bluffs at the south end of town, is a fine picnic spot. Visit the Nelson Cheese Factory to enjoy an array of tasty Wisconsin cheeses and ice cream along with gift shops,Eateries and Amish furniture.
North of Nelson on Hwy. 35 is the 12,500 acre Tiffany Bottoms Wildlife Area River. Off Hwy.35 parking areas are available and along Hwy. 25 toward Durand. Along these Highways are 14 public boat launching ramps. Hunting, fishing, trapping, nature photography and wild berry picking are popular activities. Primitive camping available by permit only.
