The city of La Crosse is bordered on the west by the Mississippi River and on the east by 600 foot high bluffs. With a population of 51,000 in the city of La Crosse, and over 90,000 in the metro area, La Crosse is the commercial center of Western Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota. Major employers include the Trane Company, Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. |
