Known as "the fastest growing city in western Wisconsin," Onalaska lies just north of La Crosse on The Great River Road. Lake Onalaska (Pool #7 of the Mississippi River) provides wonderful fishing year-round and is a resting place for Canada geese, tundra swans, canvasback ducks and other waterfowl during the autumn migration. Onalaska is also the trailhead for the Great River State Trail which connects to three other state trails and provides more than 101 miles of biking, hiking and scenic beauty. |
