Bow and Arrow Historical Marker, WI
State Historical Markers [1]
In 1903, Jacob Brower of the Minnesota Historical Society mapped an unusual arrangement of boulders on the tall bluff slope located between the river towns of Hager City and Bay City. He concluded that the aligned boulders depicted a bow (200 feet tall) with an arrow set to shoot towards Lake Pepin while others thought it portrayed a large bird. The origin dates back to before the area was settled. A State Historical Marker and parking area is located adjacent to the Great River Road affording a distant view of the mystic site.
